Role Summary

At AutoEntry we build innovative cloud products and services and deal with lots of data. This gives you the opportunity to work on award winning software that will be shipped regularly, is used by a large number of people, requires an implementation that scales, requires best practice security measures and must be reliable. This requires interaction between Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance, UX Designers, architects, the management team and customers. This role is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst. The candidate should have a keen interest in the prospect of gathering user requirements and documenting/specifying new features for our software developing teams to act on - shaping high-quality additions to our software by bridging the gap between the IT and business elements of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • In what is a broad role, you will be a key point of contact across several divisions:
  • The Product Owner in understanding customer needs and delivering the product roadmap
  • The Product Design and Development teams in defining and implementing requirements
  • The Product
  • The Sales and Marketing teams so to best communicate new features to customers
  • The Customer Success team in addressing more complex customer needs
  • The Support team in resolving escalated customer issues and questions


Other Responsibilities

  • Help the business evolve our understanding of what a typical user experience feels like
  • Review and test new features and integrations to ensure high standards throughout
  • Apply systems knowledge / experience to deliver a product consistently ahead of the game
  • Keep abreast of advances in technology as they influence the future of the accounting / financial industry
  • Research and spec out new features
  • Document and prioritise customer requirements for our Design and Development teams


Skills and Attributes Required

  • 5 years experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment
  • Experience with cloud accounting applications (e.g.  Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar products.)
  • Exposure to project management tools (e.g. Jira, Trello, etc.) and methodologies (e.g. Agile Scrum)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Keen interest in the accounting / financial industry, particularly in related technology
  • Attention-to-detail and highly-organised
  • Hard-working self-starter capable of learning quickly
